CE Knowledge Maps: Areas, Courses & Projects
+ About knowledge maps
Civic Engagement Knowledge Maps are intended to help students construct curricular and co-curricular linkages around specific global challenges. Organized around a theme such as Children, Health, Education, Poverty, or any other civic challenge, a Knowledge Map suggests courses across a variety of disciplines and immersive projects relevant to that theme. Civic Engagement Knowledge Maps should be considered open-ended, allowing students to navigate with some sense of direction in pursuit of deeper engagement. Students could use these to explore new avenues that they may not have ordinarily considered. The goal is to facilitate the making of a civically transformative Duke education.
Note: These maps are illustrative. The data about courses will be updated to correspond with ACES. However, please verify with ACES and your advisers before assuming a course is being offered in the semester you wish to take it, and check with project directors and units that a specific project is current.
